Transvalor Bundles Altair’s PBS Professional with Every Software Sale To Deliver Greater Customer Value

On-Demand Computing Software Environment Allows Customers to Run More Computing Simulations, Achieve High Productivity TROY, Mich., (June 26, 2007) – Altair Engineering, Inc., a leading global provider of technology and services that empower client innovation and decision-making, today announced that Transvalor, a leading simulation software company, plans to bundle Altair’s PBS Professional on-demand computing software environment with every software sale for the cluster version. In an effort to deliver greater customer value, Transvalor decided to provide all of its cluster version customers with PBS Professional, because it helps improve the productivity of Transvalor’s simulation software. Existing Transvalor customers will also receive PBS Professional as part of the decision.

“With the advent of recent multi-core processor technologies, our customers are running many more simulations and need an efficient and flexible on-demand computing environment to manage all their simulation jobs,” said Etienne Wey, general manager of Transvalor. “We have integrated PBS Professional with our Forge application for Windows and Linux environments to satisfy this customer requirement and to deliver greater value with our offering.”

PBS Professional is an on-demand computing software environment that provides features such as workload management and job scheduling, which are essential in powering grids, clusters and on-demand computing environments. The software maximizes the utilization of computing resources by intelligently scheduling and managing computational workload. By increasing the efficiency of the hardware and software resources, PBS Professional reduces total cost of ownership and provides true business value to grid computing customers in a variety of industries. In response to industry changes, Altair’s innovative and patented software licensing model for PBS Professional allows users to only pay for what they use, thus powering a pure on-demand computing environment.

“Transvalor is the leading supplier of simulation software to the forging industry. Altair is pleased to extend our collaboration with Transvalor,” said Michael Humphrey, vice president of PBS GridWorks. “By bundling PBS Professional with their Forge application, Transvalor provides their customers with a more complete solution, which optimizes the utilization of multi-core technologies. This partnership is an excellent example of how Altair’s technology and licensing mechanism allows partners to add value to their products.”
